Happy Birthday to my T and celebrating 5 whole years of being her mom ❤️❤️❤️

This year I just have so much gratitude. We celebrated T in every way she requested! No presents exchanged with through a window or outside like last year. We were able to have a birthday party in our house and share pizza and cupcakes with our friends. ❤️❤️❤️

She has grown so much this last year. Full blown big sister, school aged, sassy, fierce girl! Forever thankful that I get to be her mama. ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you to our friends and family for all of the phone calls, gifts and love poured into my daughter. Watching her feel loved is all I could ever ask for. ❤️❤️❤️

Parenting while sick ❤️

Man a few weeks ago was really hard! Both Adante and I felt awful but had to consistently show up for our children because, well, we had no other choice. They still need to eat, bath, have diapers changed, dishes washed, laundry done, etc…

Here are things that have helped during our sickest days:
- Take care of yourself! Take immune boosting supplements, drink all the water, eat food that is healing to your body not ones that will prolong your sickness, and rest as much as possible. It is so easy to get distracted and forget that you really need to be taking extra steps to get better quickly.
- Give yourself and your children grace. They are dealing with a sick parent and probably sick symptoms as well even though they might not be showing it the same way as you. Grace goes a long way for everyone involved.
- Find activities that’s give you rest, let them watch tv, listen to audiobooks, lay in their bed while they play, nap with them, etc. Resting is such an important part of healing and can be really difficult as a parent.
- If possible take shifts with another parent or adult, so you can rest without any responsibilities.
- Go outside. Being outside helps with healing and helps immensely with emotional regulation. When life isn’t going as planned or extra screen time is happen it is helpful to find ways that help our younger children regulate their emotions. Being outdoors always seems to do the trick.
- Plan ahead. It might already be to late to do this but after you finishing healing plan ahead for next time. Make sure you have easy soups/meals in the cupboard or freezer, supplements for helping you heal, groceries for a few days.

Gosh this year went by so fast. You are such a little person now with a huge personality. Your sister is still your favorite person in the whole world and love most of the kisses she gives you 😉. We love you so much. It’s hard to even imagine what our family was before you came along ❤️❤️❤️

P.S. You make me want to have a ton more babies!

Parenting is easier without screens… That senten

Parenting is easier without screens… That sentence might sound crazy, but it is true.

When my 4 year old doesn’t have any screen time she
- more easily regulates her own emotion
- play independently more
- has way less meltdowns
- accepts change easier
- more easily accepts when we tell her no about something

The time she would spend watching tv so I could work or clean is now spent independently playing, reading or doing art. When she isn’t deregulated by TV we have more fun together and it’s easier for me to be a parent. ❤️

This post isn’t meaning to shame anyone. It is meant to share my perspective. TV is very deregulating and honestly that’s the goal of TV. Lots of items on the screen to over stimulated and keep a child’s attention. I highly recommend trying out a TV detox. You might agree with me that parenting is easier without screens!

One of the biggest things I’ve learned in 2021 is that you don’t get to decide who is going to make your child/children a priority.

Your children deserve people who are going to love them consistently and I promise those people are out there ❤️ It might be who you expected or it might not be! It’s also okay to mourn the loss of friends and family that your children don’t know ❤️❤️❤️

I’m so incredibly blessed with the people in my life that pour love into my children. They need it, I need it. I appreciate you!!!

Babies are so innocent. They are so curious about

Babies are so innocent. They are so curious about the whole world. I could sit and just watch Q for hours as he discovers new things, chats to himself and belly laughs for, what seems to me, no reason ❤️

I want to encourage parents. Stop and watch your children. Stop and listen to your children. Stop and enjoy being around them. I have learn more from my children then I have learned without them in my entire lifetime.

The biggest thing I have learned since becoming a mom is that we (America) have set the most unrealistic standards on our children… especially our babies. And guess what you guys? Our babies have no clue why we are pushing these insane standards on them! They are truly trying to survive and thrive just like their bodies are telling them too.

So to all the mamas out there, try to take a deep breath and turn off the noise pushed by companies trying to make a profit off of you.

Our babies are not broken…

During season changes, I am constantly reminding m

During season changes, I am constantly reminding myself to get outside, get the kids outside. It’s only going to continue getting colder and being outside benefits our lives in endless ways.

This last week I made sure the kids have all their appropriate clothing for these colder temperatures. I don’t want to be able to make any excuses about going outside.

Take advantage of all the seasons ❤️ and if you live in Alaska… go buy a happy light 😉
